Solon's First Day of Preschool

Well, today was Solon's first day of preschool. Before leaving the house this morning, Emily gave him the rules of Miss Gail's class. She wanted to make sure that he was prepared for the day. Miss Gail did notice some differences between Solon and Emily. Solon can sit in his seat and stay there and Emily can't. She is always on the go and socializing. Solon informed me that they have a playground but no slide at school. He also painted a picture but he wasn't allowed to bring it home. I think overall he had a wonderful experience on his first.

Fishing at Great-daddy's pond

Emily and Solon went fishing with grandaddy Kidd on Friday. They both caught fish and grandaddy captured these pictures with his cell phone. Not too bad! Look at those fish. They are huge.

The Fair

Last week we visited the Fredericksburg Fair. It is the oldest agricultural fair in the United States. The kids loved. They were able to ride rides, play games and see some old tractors. The highlight of the evening was the monster truck. Solon absolutely loves to play with monster trucks however it was Emily who rode one with her daddy. Solon wanted to have no part of it. He did enjoy riding the jet skis and submarines. Emily rode the Scrambler for the first time with Chelsea. Emily is definitely my dare devil.

The doctor's visit

Today Solon had his physical for preschool. That was so much fun! He was a typical 3 year old. He did not want to take his clothes off, normally I can't keep them on. He didn't want to doctor to touch him. And the whole time, in the background, I hear Emily saying.... Is Solon getting a shot? When is he getting a shot? Did he have his shot yet? Fortunately, there were no shots at this visit. But after we left the doctor, we had to proceed to the lab for blood work. Once again, great fun! Solon screamed when they put the needle in his arm. He told me he was not going to pee-pee in the cup. But then we told him about the magic door. You put the cup of pee-pee in the magic door and it will disappear. Amazing!! It worked. What an exciting day!!

Snapfish

I have just created albums on Snapfish to store pictures of the kids. I hope that everyone is able to see them. I am at mom and dad's working on the computer to get all of this set up. I am hoping to get some connectivity on the compound soon. I greatly dislike dial-up connection. It is so useless in a world that move much faster than dial-up.

I finally did it!

I have finally set up a blog to share information with family about the kids. Today is Solon's birthday. He turned 3 today. We are still working on the potty training. He has the concept but we are still working on the follow through. Emily is 4 1/2 and truly a joy. She is constantly talking. We are spending our summer with family and friends. Swimming is almost a daily event. Emily is like a little fish. Solon just figured things out on Saturday and is taking off.
